About Dean

Dean Scott Chapman was born on July 8, 1961, to David and Ruth (Sorenson) Chapman in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended grade schools in Iowa, Ohio, and Minnesota. Dean graduated from Anoka High School in 1978. He attended college at Winona State University, University of Wisconsin - River Falls, and earned a B.A. from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. Dean married/divorced Karen Froebal between college and his military service.

Dean had many business experiences from selling Real Estate to managing his own Electronics Installation Business to his last position of 20 years with a Government Communications Service Company. His degree was in marketing while he was self-taught in electronics where he excelled for most of his working days.

Dean was an avid hunter, fisherman, photographer, and friend to many. He was interested in many diverse activities including politics, religion, philosophy and martial arts. He credited his Christian faith to his Confirmation Pastor, Pastor Robert Lea.

Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents, 3 cousins, and 2 uncles.

He is survived by his parents, David and Ruth; sisters, Laura (Tom) Gust, of Blaine, MN, and Rebecca Chapman (Sean Keefe), of Denver, CO; two nephews; one niece; many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
