David Milan Forzetting
March 20, 1961 – May 19, 2025
Akron, OH, USA
David lived most of his life in the Fairlawn & West Akron area. He attended Copley/Fairlawn schools and graduated from Copley High School in 1979.
As a young boy David became fascinated by magic, studying every book he could and performing his first magic show at the local library. His mother was his inspiration and critic. She would tell him to go practice more if she could see how his trick was done. This helped him hone his craft and become a perfectionist.
In high school he stayed busy by being a vocalist, guitarist, played in bands and performed magic with his friends. He later taught magic classes in Atlanta and then jumped at the opportunity to be a headliner magician on cruise ships.
David performed on numerous cruise lines around the world as a Master Magician, using his middle name, Milan. He and his then-wife, Linda, performed spectacular comedy magic before thousands of audiences. Many people commented how well he interacted with the audience, incorporated heart-warming stories & memories into his illusions and had several trained pets. People were dazzled by his impeccable timing, costumes, lighting and music selections. He always stated that his show would be nothing without his talented stage hands, sound & lighting techs and beautiful assistant. Whenever he was back home they would do smaller shows at dinner theatres and venues. David was also an accomplished illusion builder, vocalist, guitarist and author.
In the later part of his life he returned to his hometown to put his heart & soul into whatever he could and start a new chapter. Whether he was performing corporate magic shows, birthday parties, singing in Cleveland area bands, playing guitar & singing Christmas carols for Salvation Army kettle drives, working in sales, making deliveries, or doing handyman services he gave it his all, being meticulous. David always tried to have a positive attitude, keep his sense of humor, stay humble & grateful for his life. He had a good heart and was generous to a fault. No matter what he was always known as "The Magician" or "Magic Man".
Preceded in death by his parents Donald & Helen, he is survived by his sister, Nancy, aunt, Sandy (Gary), cousins, Laura, Holly and Mike (Carla).
He leaves behind cherished lifelong friends: Rand, Sally, Rod, Sparky, Jeff, Peter, Mark, Mike, Angela, Chris, Elvy, Kelly, John & Christine and many, many more.
Please keep his legacy alive by always appreciating the magic & wonder in this world, being kind to animals & one another, dance as if no one is watching and enjoy music.
"Some of it's magic, and some of it's tragic but I lived a good life all the way."
-Jimmy Buffet
