David Edward Paulson

October 17, 1950 – September 20, 2026

St Paul, MN, USA

David Edward Paulson, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Dave was born and raised in Owatonna, Minnesota, to George and Marilyn (Scholljegerdes) Paulson. After graduating from high school, he moved to the Twin Cities, where he earned his degree from the University of Minnesota.

Dave spent many years working with the University Libraries' Minitex program. He also spent a short time as co-owner of the Greenwood Bar on Lake Street in Minneapolis.

Dave was a great cook and a devoted pet parent. Over the years, he lovingly cared for Mose, Lucky, Kitzi, Sophie, Willie, Nellie, Bogus, Kato, and Dolly. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, Golden Gophers, and Vikings, and he especially enjoyed March Madness. Dave loved many genres of music and cherished the opportunity to see many of his favorite artists perform live. He treasured time spent at the family cabin in Vergas and never missed a visit to the Minnesota State Fair, where a memorial tile in his name will be added.

Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia; his brother, Jeff, and wife, Pam; and his nephew, Brian, and niece, Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marilyn, and his brother, Alex.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Regions Hospital and Saint Therese at St. Odilia Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Dave and his family.

Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
