Daryl George Pollock, 87, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Daryl George Pollock was born on July 27th, 1936 to George Fred and Mildred Mae (Dunham) Pollock in Hubbard Township, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Hubbard Township and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1954. Soon after, he joined the United States Air Force for 4 years, serving overseas in the Far East. He was honorably discharged in 1959. After serving his country, Daryl returned and worked for the Park Rapids Co-Op Creamery for 10 years. He then returned to the family farm and farmed until 1990. After that, he worked for the State and Federal Agriculture Department as a potato inspector at the local potato processing plant. He also worked, at the same time, for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, at the Badoura State Tree Nursery, grading seedling trees.

Daryl was united in marriage to Janice Weatherly Johnson, a widow, on July 28, 2007 at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He and Janice loved spending time together. They have many fond memories of dancing and traveling together. Daryl was a wonderful father to Janice's daughters and the grandchildren lovingly called him “Pappy.”

Daryl is survived by his late wife, Janice's daughters and their families-- Kristy Johnson and Karen (Jim) Zach; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and their families.

Daryl is preceded in death by wife, Janice and his parents.

Daryl's family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that a memorial be given to a charity of your choice.

Rev. Fr. Tony Fernando will be presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hubbard Cemetery following the Memorial Service.
