Darlene Marie Bauer, 88, of Blackduck, MN died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck, MN.

Darlene was born October 15, 1933 in Cormant Township, MN at her parent’s home, she is the daughter of George and H. Eleanore (Stomberg) Bauer. She graduated from Blackduck High School in 1951. She attended Bemidji State Teachers College, graduating in 1953. She got her Master’s degree later taking college evening classes in Grand Rapids and Bemidji. She started teaching at the age of 19, working for the next 38 years. She taught in various communities including, Keewatin, Nashwauk, Blackduck, and Duluth.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, music, and flower and vegetable gardening. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Tri Sigma Study Club, Blackduck Sr. Center, and Northern Pines and Nursing Homes Auxiliary.

She is survived by her cousin, Jack (Marlene) Stomberg, and their children, Jeff, Peter and Bethany, and caregivers, Gregg and Debra Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and H. Eleanore Bauer, brother, Brian Bauer, sister, Ruth Bauer, her loving partner, Don Hanson in 2012, and numerous cousins from the Bauer and Stomberg families.

Zion Lutheran Church 217 Main St, Blackduck, MN 56630, USA

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck.
