Daniel Hansen

life story

Daniel Mark Hansen passed away on December 28, 2025, due to pneumonia and complications of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. He was born March 10, 1979, to Mark and Wendy Hansen, and lived a rich, creative life despite his physical challenges.

Daniel was an artist who held four art shows and a poetry reading during his time in Duluth. In 1997, his drawing was chosen to represent the Bayfront Blues Festival for their concert that year.

Daniel was an inventive problem solver who designed many solutions to assist his daily care. He is sorely missed for his wonderful humor and spirit.

Dan’s family is grateful for the loving care given by the staff at Superior View Apartments, and for his dear, long-time friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 24, 2025, at 1pm, visitation at 12:30pm @ Kenwood Lutheran Church in Duluth. Any donations can be made to CURE SMA, and Doctors without Borders.
