Daniel Ronald Moe, 69, Menahga, MN passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Sanford Health Care in Fargo, ND.

Daniel was born March 24, 1952 to Ronald and Peggy (Phelps) Moe in Bemidji. He grew up in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji high school in 1970.

Dan worked for Riggles Bus Company, drove school bus, shuttle bus, chartered bus and later worked for Edgewater Motel.

He was also a foster parent. On October 17, 1987 he married Susan Erickson Pachel in Bemidji. They divorced in 1996 and in 1999 Dan moved to Park Rapids, MN where he worked for the West 40 for 13 years, Hugo's for a year, Salo manufacturing for 7 years, and The Great Northern Café until 2021 when he became ill with cancer and had to stop working.

Dan enjoyed sports. Over his lifetime he was involved with the Baptist Church, Free Methodist Church and the Foster Grandparent Program. Dan had a heart of gold, loved fun, loved to laugh, loved to visit and was always full of questions. He loved his family with his whole heart and had a close bond with his son, Dan and his granddaughter, Emily. He loved to play games with Emily and spend time with his family.

Dan is survived by his son, Daniel (Christine) Moe; daughter Heidi Moe; former spouse, Susan Erickson; brother, Jeff Moe; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Moe and grandfather, Marvin Moe.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Deacon John Zinniel will officiate. Musical selections include “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Precious Memories.” Casket Bearers are Russ Carmichael, Bradly Rousu, Brandon Rousu, Eric Smith, Randy Pachel, Rick Pachel, and Ahlias Guida. Honorary casket bearers are his grandchildren, Emily Moe, McKinzie McCoy, Gracie Randal, Reid Randal, Blake Randal and Dixon Randal. Inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Bemidji.
