Dale Allen Westphal

January 10, 1958 – January 18, 2026

Bloomington, MN, USA

Dale Allen Westphal, age 68, of Mpls., passed away Jan. 18, 2026. He lived his whole life in Minnesota and mostly never left Mpls. except going to the suburbs; living in Brooklyn Park and Bloomington. He was truly a Minnesota guy through and through. He started out as a teenager working as a paper boy delivering papers for Star and Tribune. The other long term job that he had was working for Pepitos restaurant on Nicollet in Mpls. Dale was always hard working and devoted to his jobs. He endured much hardship and struggle in his life and with his health; especially with having lived with a colostomy bag for about 13 years. His job ended at Pepitos once he had that. Dale is a survivor and quite the trooper; he seemed always to be able to rise above his limitations, still keeping his spirit high. His working life basically ended with Pepitos.

Late in December 2024, Dale was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After a little more than a year, he passed away with his sister and a very dear friend there by his side. He had found a church (Grace Covenant in Bloomington) that was very near to where he lived that he had been attending for a few years before his death. The people there were so very supportive of Dale and truly loved him. Dale and his enduring spirit will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Dale is survived by his full siblings: Jelena, Sheila, Yvonne, and Duane. In addition, he is survived by three half siblings (Milly, Jeanette, Cindie) and by nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
