life story

In Loving Memory of Crystal Rae Maciewski

With hearts full of sorrow yet deep gratitude for the time we were blessed to share, we announce the passing of Crystal Rae Maciewski—a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, devoted mother and fiancée, cherished friend, and radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. Though she left us far too soon, her love, laughter, and kindness will echo forever in the hearts she touched.

Crystal was born on April 7, 1982, in Washington, Pennsylvania, and from the beginning, her presence was a gift. She had a heart that beat fiercely for others—always putting her loved ones first, always quick to lend a hand or a listening ear. Her warmth could brighten even the darkest day, and her smile made strangers feel like family. She was strong in faith and built a foundation of love and stability for her young family.

About Crystal and her devotion to others

As a devoted partner and fiancée to Brian, Crystal poured her heart into the life they built together over many cherished years. Their bond was one of deep love, shared dreams, and unwavering support—a true partnership rooted in friendship and mutual respect.

As a mother, Crystal was devoted beyond measure. Her children, Baily and Emma, were her world, and every decision she made reflected her deep, unconditional love for them. Whether it was late-night snuggles, silly dance parties in the living room, or quiet moments of encouragement and care, she nurtured with joy, compassion, and boundless energy. She created a home filled with laughter, music, and love—a safe haven where her children could grow, dream, and always feel loved.

As a daughter, Crystal brought immense pride and joy to her parents, Leroy “Butch” and Carolyn Maciewski. Her big hugs, thoughtful notes, and the way she remembered every birthday or special moment will forever be treasured. She never missed an opportunity to say, “I love you.”

To her siblings, Joseph “Butch” Maciewski and Nicole Zipf-Maciewski, and to her many other family members and friends, Crystal was a loyal confidante—the first to show up in a crisis, the last to leave. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a comforting cup of coffee, or the perfect words of encouragement, she gave of herself freely, authentically, and with her whole heart.

Crystal is lovingly remembered by her devoted fiancée, Brian Jansen; her beloved daughters, Baily and Emma, who were the light of her life; and her adoring parents, Leroy “Butch” and Carolyn “Carol” Maciewski. She also leaves behind Brian’s parents—Roger and Sue Murgula and Steve and Michelle Jansen—who embraced her as family; Brian’s brother—Tony (Jen) Jansen; her treasured siblings, Joseph “Butch” Maciewski and Nicole Zipf-Maciewski; her dear Uncle Milo Raaum; her caring aunts,

Linda Brozek, Joyce Buchholz (Tim), and Karen Carlson (Greg); her Kenya sister, Shamilla (Larry) Akabike; along with many cherished nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

Crystal was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Donna and Milo (Sr.) Raaum and Doris and Felix Montury; her Uncle Louie Raaum; her Aunts Debbie Raaum and Darla Maciewski; and her cousin, Quinn Raaum. Their memories remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them.

Each of them, and all who knew her, will carry Crystal’s legacy forward—in the way they love, the way they show up for others, and the way they live with compassion, courage, and grace.

While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Crystal’s spirit lives on in every life she touched—in the sound of her children’s laughter, in the traditions she created, in the quiet acts of kindness she inspired, and in the beautiful memories that will never fade.

Crystal was love in motion—and that love will never leave us.
