Corinne's Story
Corinne Marie Marsh, 92, of Pengilly, Minnesota, formerly of Shevlin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Corinne was born on December 1, 1929 in rural Shevlin, Minnesota to Jerry and Anna (Syverson) Harmon. She lived on the family farm with her parents and five brothers. After graduating from school, Corinne worked at the Creamery in Bagley for a couple of years before marrying the love her life. She was united in marriage to Richard Marsh on May 6, 1951 at Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin, Minnesota. To this union four children were born.
Dick and Corinne moved to Pengilly as Dick sought employment in the Mines. Corinne was an amazing housewife and mother to her children. As the children grew up, the family was able to take many trips throughout the United States, and later in life joining Dick in taking the Studebaker to numerous Car Shows. She was a proud wife of his accomplishments with his cars.
Corinne was happiest when she was cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting, and canning. She never shyed away from answering questions as the kids and grandkids would call for directions on how to can or a secret recipe. Everyone would go home with goodies from the pantry and her “Grandma Jelly”.
Corinne was active in her Circle at the Nashwauk Lutheran Church. She loved to host and brought out the “good” dishes while doing so. She also loved making pasties at church. Family and friends were very important to Corinne. She always made you feel welcome and right at home.
Dick and Corinne would have been married 71 years this May. What a perfect picture of what life, love, and marriage should be.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Dick Marsh; her daughters, Brenda (Scott) Fagerwold, Diane (Phil) Solina; her son, Rodney (Michelle) Marsh; daughter-in-law, Janice Marsh; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Anna Harmon; her brothers, Bob, Lester, and Milo Harmon; son, Bruce Marsh; grandsons, Angelo Solina and Dustan Marsh.
