About Connie
Connie Moore, 74, passed away on October 22, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of compassion, determination, and love. Her larger-than-life personality and unwavering dedication to others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Connie Moore dedicated 30 years of her career to Alexandra House, making Anoka County safer and more compassionate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Her advocacy began as a volunteer at a battered women’s shelter, and in 1988 she joined Alexandra House as a women’s advocate, becoming Intervention Program Coordinator that same year. After serving as Director of Community Intervention at the Domestic Abuse Program, she returned to Alexandra House in 1994 as Community Programs Director. From 1998 to 2001, she led Project SOAR, a Displaced Homemaker Program in Duluth, as its Executive Director.
In 2001, Connie came home to Alexandra House as Executive Director and led the organization for 25 years until her retirement in 2026. Under her leadership, Alexandra House grew into an organization that doesn’t just respond to crisis but helps people reclaim their lives. She helped lead county, state, and national efforts to shape public policy for survivors, low-income families, and displaced homemakers, and she was a steady hand and clear voice for everyone who worked alongside her.
Connie was so much more than her professional accomplishments. She was funny, outspoken, spirited, and wonderfully stubborn. She had a sharp sense of humor, a strong opinion about just about everything, and a personality that was impossible to forget. She loved deeply, stood fiercely by the people she cared about, and had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and supported.
Above all, Connie was a devoted mother and grandmother. To her daughters, she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and wisdom. She celebrated their strengths, supported them through life's challenges, and never stopped believing in them. She was the person they could turn to for advice, reassurance, or simply someone to talk to.
Her grandchildren held an equally special place in her heart. Connie wasn't just a grandmother who attended family gatherings and celebrated milestones. She was someone her grandchildren genuinely loved spending time with, sharing laughter, stories, and memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Connie also had an extraordinary gift for friendship. Whether someone knew her through her work or her personal life, she formed meaningful relationships built on loyalty, laughter, and genuine affection. To many, she was far more than a colleague or friend. She was family.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Aubrey Rahn and Amber Rahn; her four grandchildren, Alyssa, Raven, Sadaijah, and Amelia; and her siblings, Bill, Barb, and Rick, along with many cherished friends and loved ones.
Connie will be remembered for her fierce determination, her unmistakable spirit, her generous heart, and the extraordinary difference she made in the lives of others. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the good she accomplished will live on.
