Colette Neisen (Molitor)

February 26, 1957 – January 2, 2026

life story

Colette Neisen, 68 of Woodlake MN passed away peacefully on January 2nd, surrounded by those who loved her.

She was born on February 27 in Tracey, MN. Colette was a devoted mother grandmother, sister and friend.

Those who were lucky enough to know her were often treated with baked goods with many notable recipes only Colette knew how to make. Her children and grandchildren will forever keep her handi-craft crochet decorations and other sewing trinkets as a reminder of her thoughtfulness. Colette always looked forward to spending time with her family while making them listen to Neil Diamond and Fleetwood Mac. Of course this was all done in between her weekly Thursday night bingo at the local legion.

Before retirement Colette worked staining wood for cabinetry, but her favorite job was being the Mountain Lake school baker while her kids attended school. She was very proud of her homemade buns, cookies that didn’t come pre made in a plastic bag, and the dreaded green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

As her final days drew near, it was clear that the part of Colette that will live for generations to come is the deep love she taught her children to share with others. This gift is already witnessed in her grandchildren, and will surely be a light that spreads on and on.

Colette is survived by her children Richard (Jessica), Catherine (David) and Stephanie, her 13 grandchildren, and brother Jim, Tony (Lori), Daniel, Jerry, Paul (Deb). She was preceded in death by her parents (Severin and Ruth) two sisters (Karen, Margaret/Peggy) and daughter Sarah.

A funeral will be held on January 10 at 11 am at St Patrick’s Church in Erin Prarie, with a visitation an hour before and luncheon to follow.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
