Cinda Jean Dorholt (Henrikson)

December 21, 1949 – August 27, 2026

St Louis Park, MN, USA

Cinda Jean Dorholt (Henrikson) passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born in Aberdeen, S.D., on December 21, 1949, to Kathryn and Leonard Henrikson, the third of 8 girls.

Cinda graduated from Academy of Holy Angels in 1967. Cinda married Dean Dorholt on August 17, 1995, and built a life devoted to family, friendship, meaningful work and service to the community. Her generosity knew no bounds.

After retiring from her career with Hennepin County, Cinda enjoyed volunteering at her local food shelf and delivering Meals on Wheels. Organizers said, “For many years, Cinda generously gave her time and heart to our community”. As a Meals on Wheels volunteer, she was always willing to train new drivers or step into other roles when needed. Whenever possible, she used her strength and determination to spread kindness and make a difference in the lives of others.

Cinda and Dean traveled throughout the Midwest on antique car tours with the Franklin Club and Horseless Carriage groups. As newsletter editor, Cinda also produced many award-winning newsletters that kept members informed.

Cinda lived with strength and devotion, always showing up when others needed her. She helped a sister move during a major snowstorm, sat beside another through every chemotherapy session, and cared for her young niece and nephew so their mother could rest after giving birth. Her unconditional love made people feel cared for and never alone. Her humor, kindness, and steadfast presence will always be remembered.

As Alzheimer’s stole Cindy’s ability to keep up on the “sister’s thread” she would sign off for the day with referring to her sisters as “yous” and “Good night. God bless. Sleep tight. Don’t’ let the bedbugs bite”.

Cinda is survived by her husband of 31 years Dean Dorholt of Minnetrista; son, Owen Nelson; daughter, Anna Nelson; grandson, Reece Holmes; and great grandson, Jessi Holmes. Sisters Rae Ann Donnelly, Janis Christensen, Nancy Henrikson Sommers, Mary Kay Lowe, Teryl Koonmen and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to (WeCan) Western Communities Action Network, Inc. or Westonka Community Food Shelf on behalf of Cinda would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, October 10th, 11:00-2:00 at the Gillespie Center 2590 Commerce Blvd., Mound, MN 55364.
