life story

In Loving Memory of Christopher Joseph Tomasik

Picture me on my happiest day with you, that is a bit what heaven is like. The moment I entered I saw so much joy and felt so much love I whispered “I’m okay now” and ran forward.

About Chris

Christopher (Chris) Tomasik, age 75 passed away on May 19th 2026 at Health Fairview University Hospital. He entered eternal life surrounded by his beloved dog Cooper, family and friends at his bedside.

Chris was born in Detroit Michigan in the beginning of January 1951.

Less than five years later the family returned to Grand Rapids Michigan to be near their parents. Chris attended school at Catholic Central and graduated with honors and studying Latin. He continued his education in earning a bachelor’s in business from the University of Detroit.

Chris stayed in Detroit for a few more years working for a medical distributor. When his employer purchased a smaller medical distribution company in MN, they asked Chris if he would relocate to the Twin Cities, and he agreed.

Chris made many new friends and lasting relationships. These new found friends grew over time into a chosen family that would spend holidays together. Chris loved making Stella Tomasik’s (paternal grandmother) bow tie cookies for the holidays.

Spending time with his friends, playing card games and participating in a bowling league with his buddies brought him great joy. He also was an intensely devoted pet owner. His dogs were always one of the biggest bright spots in his life. The family is grateful that his beloved surviving boxer, Cooper, has found a new loving forever home.

Chris was the oldest of five children. He is survived by his siblings: Rita Fiers (Tomasik) and her husband Rick Fiers, Deborah Tomasik and her wife Sarah Huisman, Sue Merony (Tomasik) and her husband Ken Merony, and Gregory Tomasik. These are joined by four nieces and one Nephew plus four grand-nieces and three grand-nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his chosen family in MN.
