Cheryl Ann (Tozer) Solomon
January 13, 1971 – January 31, 2026
Minneapolis, MN, USA
Cheryl Ann (Tozer) Solomon, age 55, of Minneapolis passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 after an eight-year battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband Patrick, son Pluto, parents Bill and Carol, brother Chris, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Cheryl was warm, wonderful, spirited, and unabashedly weird. She liked gin, glamorous shoes, and red lipstick. She grew more confident with age. She loved children and found joy and purpose as a gifted educator and caretaker; she worked until nearly the end just because she wanted to. She was always willing to help others. She loved fiercely. She was creative and loved to cross stitch; she especially appreciated patterns with a well-placed swear word. She loved art of any kind. She was a runner with a beer-lover’s body (her words). She had a great sense of humor and was never afraid to laugh at herself or make others laugh, even at inappropriate times. She had the best, most boisterous laugh.
Cheryl loved her friends and adored her family. Patrick was the love of her life; he was the yin to her yang. Pluto was her everything. May Pluto always know how proud she was of them and how hard she fought to spend more time with them.
Cheryl was colorful and fun and made all our lives more colorful and fun. We will be forever incredulous that a woman with so much life could ever stop living.
Although she made it look good and often used it as an excuse to get her way, Cheryl lamented that cancer was not as glamorous as it sounds and suggested that we should do our best not to get it. Thus, in lieu of flowers, please wear sunscreen, get your mammograms, and consider a donation in Cheryl’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
