life story
Loving Grandmother, Mom and Friend
On May 7th, 2022, Cherry Hammon passed away after a brief sickness. She was 68 years young. No longer in pain, she is now in the loving arms of Jesus. Her family takes comfort in her faith, as she often told her own mother that every medical procedure was a win-win. She won if she came home to her family healthy, and if not, she won if she was taken home to Heaven.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
About Cherry
She is survived by her parents (Don and Mary Fowler), her sister/ brother in law (Connie and Bob Thompson), her brother (Scott Fowler), two daughters and son in laws (Tabitha and Samuel Silver) (Michele and Tommy Harper), two loved grandchildren (Alex Zapata and River Harper) and several nieces and nephews.
Cherry was always doing something, keeping herself busy after her husband's passing. She was a proud member of the Ivy Cottage Guild, where she learned to quilt. She enjoyed the company of these lovely ladies. Cherry once again picked up bowling as part of a small group at Elevate Life Church, and was immensely proud of the recent strike she bowled at one of their meetings. On Sunday, she was excited to attend the church with her mom, who viewed online in Colorado.
Cherry loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with Alex and River, and spoke about them to anyone who would listen -- and even some that wouldn't.
Updates for a Celebration of Life will be available in the upcoming weeks.
