Charles Winferd Schulz passed away peacefully at River’s of Life in Eagan Minnesota on 7/1/2026. Born on April 26, 1942 to Winferd and Myrtle Schulz in Red Wing MN, he grew up in Zumbrota, MN. Charles graduated from Zumbrota High School and continued his education at Augsburg College and Mankato State with a master’s in education. During his teaching career at Park High School of Cottage Grove, he was able to be head coach of the wrestling and football teams. After his 12 years in education, he began his career in housing construction and land development. Later in life his greatest joy was spending his time with family and friends hunting fishing and traveling.

Chuck was the beloved and devoted husband of Dorothy (Miller) Schulz for 60 years.

Chuck was an active member of Newport Lutheran Church, Newport Luthern woodcarvers, Augsburg College “A” club, was voted into Augsburg College Athletic Hall of Fame, a volunteer with many organizations. He spent much of his time enjoying friends and family. He and Dorothy were foster parents to many babies through the Children’s Home Society MN - LSS. In addition to his parents, daughter Ellen, wife Dorothy, brothers Donald and Niles Schulz, Chuck is survived by his loving sons Christopher (Maureen) and Steven (Rhonda), brothers Dave (Kay), Ted and Lee Schulz (Julie), & Jane Schulz.
