Charles Douglas Norton, age 88, of Waconia passed away on November 16th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his bride of 62 ½ years, Helen, his parents Jim and Gertrude, siblings Jim and Bob and infant grandson Joshua. Survived by sons Chuck (Jane) and David Norton; Daughters Melissa (Jim) Dorion, Lynn Bangen (Steve); grandchildren Nicole (Mike) Kaiser, Adam, Tyler (Sarah), Logan (Ella) Dorion; Eric (Rachel), Andrew (Allie), Grant (Karissa) Bangen; and Cassandra (Gavin) Woodland. Great grandchildren; Hunter, Isaac, Marnie, Nina, Liam, Lainey, Casen, Callen, Collins, Chloe and Josie. Along with many other loved ones that he considered family.
Chuck had so much love for his family and friends and made sure each of us knew that by his words and actions. He was a helper and creator and loved what he did everyday. Making countertops and building homes was a passion of his and he was very good at it! If there was a project to be done or help that was needed you could always count on him. He loved bowling every Tuesday and Thursday night along with many trips to the nationals and various other tournaments during his bowling days. He knew how to create memories and he loved to tell a story. When he vacationed he went big, often going for a month at a time and it was almost always a road trip in the motor home. All of the above did not pale in comparison to his love for his bride. He worked hard and played hard but he stopped it all and cared for her with his all when she needed him most. He was an amazing example of the marriage vow. It brings great joy to know that they are reunited whole and renewed in the glory of heaven.
