About Chuck
Chuck, of Lakeville, MN, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2023. Chuck was born on Sept 23, 1938 to Russell and Mary Yarnes in Lackawanna, NY.
Chuck grew up in Orchard Park, NY. He attended the University of Buffalo and served in the Navy for 3 years stationed at sea, where he served as an electronics technician. After he left the Navy, Chuck met and married Sandy Jewett in 1962. They had 3 children together. After relocating a couple of times as an engineer for Pillsbury, they ended up settling in Savage, Minnesota. He enjoyed his annual trip to the BWCA each summer with his wife Sandy and then going back each fall on his annual hunting trip along the Gunflint Trail with his son Paul and his son-in-law Jim. Chuck had a sharp mind for math (even in his later years, he was still able to help the grandkids as they got older with their challenging math problems) and he was an avid reader, reading one or two books per week. He enjoyed his favorite brand of beer and in his later years the highlight of his day was having a cold beer when Paul would stop by after work for a visit.
Chuck is survived by his children Paul (Paula) Yarnes and Tricia (Jim) Hadley, grandchildren Zachary and Megan Yarnes, Joshua and Rachel Hadley, siblings Tom Yarnes and Don Yarnes. He’s proceeded in death by his wife Sandy Yarnes (who passed away peacefully of COPD on April 27th, 2022), son Marc Yarnes, and parents Russell and Mary Yarnes. We celebrate his current joy and look forward to seeing him again.
