life story

“I know I’d be a poorer man if I never saw an eagle fly”

Chad passed away at home in the care of his family after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He will be missed by wife of 53 years, Susan; daughters Brenna (Tim) and Erin (Brad) and grandchildren Ryan, Chris and Josh, as well as long time friends.

Chad was born in Bemidji, Minnesota. As a young boy he lived all over northern Minnesota. He graduated from high school in Thief River Falls, going on to college at Bemidji State University. Chad spent a few years as a musician in a rock band, traveling around the midwest. He eventually went to work at Control Data as a draftsman. He went on to work for Cray Research in publications. He and his wife Susan settled in Eagan, Mn raising two daughters.

Chad was an accomplished artist and photographer. His favorite subjects were birds and his family. Chad used his artistic ability to submit several entries into the Federal duck stamp contest. His love of the outdoors was shared with his family and friends on many hunting, fishing, and camping trips. In retirement Chad and Susan traveled the United States in their RV. They eventually joined friends and spent winters in southern Florida.
