About Chad
Miller, Chad Allen age 50 of Eagan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 21, 2024. Preceded in death by daughter Adelyn Miller, father Gerald Miller and father-in-law Kent Wichmann. Chad is survived by wife, Vicki Wichmann Miller, son Blake (Asia) DelCastillo, granddaughters Zola and Jacquelyn, mother Cindi Miller, siblings Rob (Suzanne) Miller, Rick (Jodi) Miller, Bill (Jodie) Miller and Bobbie (Jeremy) Hays, in-laws Connie and Doug Walter, John (Laura) Wichmann, Connie (Jimmy) Wichmann and Jeff (Melissa) Wichmann and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chad was born in Tacoma, Washington and grew up in South Dakota and Minnesota; graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in 1992. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1996 with his best friend, beer drinking buddy and fellow life-long Vikings fan, Sean (Sherry) Mertes. Chad married Vicki (and Blake) in June 2001 and welcomed Adelyn in April 2003.
Chad was a loving, dedicated husband, there is no one else with whom Vicki would rather traverse life. He was such a family man, a devoted, supportive father to Blake and Adelyn, and a ‘Papa Chad’ full of love, fun and all sorts of shenanigans to Z and Jax. Chad was very close to his mother, siblings and in-laws and always looked forward to the time he got to spend with them, especially, Miller Christmases, white elephant gifts, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and always stories of how they survived growing up. He instigated good natured Viking vs Packer rivalries, cookouts, beer and bonfires and Wichmann Thanksgiving meals.
A hard-working man, always busy with a project, Chad was constantly doing something. Always the go-to guy, the ‘forklift’; he was often found helping others anywhere from solving a technology problem to moving a refrigerator to building a pole barn. Even after death he continues to help others by giving the gift of sight by donating his eyes.
Chad’s battle with a very aggressive form of Sarcoma (Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor) was hard and fast but he faced it with bravery, determination and hope. He fought valiantly, he fought with grace all the way to the end. His wish was to be able to spend his last days at home, surrounded by family and die peacefully in his bed and in true Chad form, he checked every box and achieved his goal.
