life story

Cecilia's light reached friends and family around the globe.

Cecilia Jean Elizabeth Tecza was born September 6, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. Her light was sent out among the stars on April 30, 2021, in St. Paul Minnesota. She was 71 years old. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Veronica (Skirius) Tecza. She was the youngest daughter, sibling of the late Anne Marie Schroeder and survived by Lorraine Hart. She is survived by her children - Jason (Julie Turner) Tecza, Alexis (Anthony Obrochta) Obrochta, and Luke (Tara Hopkins) Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Steven Simpson (Alexis), Kyle Obrochta, Jacqueline Brown, Andrew Obrochta, Sarah Brown, Maia Obrochta, Michael Hopkins, Jasmine Hopkins, Zachary Hopkins, Chase Hopkins, Marissa Brown and her great grandchild Neveah Simpson. She was the aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Cecilia was, in all essence, a free spirit. She was love and that was all she wanted to put out into the world. She loved to travel and before she retired, the job she held most close to her heart was the one she had at the Grand Tetons Lodge in Wyoming. It allowed her exposure to nature on a daily basis with a sense of peace, enjoyment and fulfillment compared to any other job she held.

One of her greatest characteristics was to see the good in anything. Whatever situation fell upon her, she always tried to see it in a positive light and make the best of it. She was light and good for so many people, inspiring change in us because that was what she'd show us.
