Catherine Marie (Katie) Lukoskie
July 29, 2023, Catherine Marie Lukoskie (61) passed away peacefully with family by her side in a room full of music. It was at 3:16 in the afternoon that the skies parted and she began her everlasting life, at God’s hand, guided by her parents, Eileen and Matthew Lukoskie, sister Mary Lukoskie, and all of the many other loved ones who preceded her.
Born in St. Paul and raised in Apple Valley, Katie attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Rosemount before graduating at Humboldt High School in St. Paul. In her adulthood, she studied accounting at Inver Hills Community College and Globe College of Business, before going on to work for Control Data, and later pursue interests in the service industry while caring for her mother and self. She enjoyed spending time with her mother and family at Irish haunts in St. Paul, like Skinner's Pub, J R Mac’s, St. Paul Tap, and at Mystic Lake. In recent years, Katie underwent treatment for melanoma (2015) and colon cancer which metastasized to her liver (2022), from which she had finally succumbed despite wanting to keep fighting. Katie will be remembered for her endless zest for life. She was an active community member wherever she went, beloved by staff and residents at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope where she passed, after receiving her Anointing of the Sick. The family extends appreciation to Regions Cancer Care Center and Health Partners Hospice for their special care and treatment of Katie.
Katie will be missed by her sister Ellen (Jon) Boutelle; nieces and nephews Eileen (Dan) Halligan, Andrew (Caitlin) Bjorge, Ashley (Mark) Werner, Catherine (Mike) Maloney, and Alexandra Boutelle (Christopher Engelhart); great-nieces and nephews Lexi, Brenden, Adrian, Edison, Caleb, Ava, Chase, Ramona and Rian; Aunt Mary Therese Byrne; and many cousins and friends.
John 3:16 —
