life story

Loving mother, nanny, sister and friend

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Catherine “Dianna” Link, 82, a beloved wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully at her granddaughter’s home in Blaine, MN, surrounded by her loved ones on March 15th, 2023

Dianna was born in Rosewood, KY, in 1941 to Margaret C. Oates and Lawrence G. Oates, the eldest of their three children. After the family migrated to Northern California, Dianna met the love of her life, Robert Link. They married in 1959 and were happily married for 54 years. Their life began in the East Bay Area, where they raised their two children, and she started her 28-year career with PG&E. Dianna, and Bob settled in Bangor, CA, where they opened their hearts and home to various strays that would find their way to "The Ranch.” Her love for gardening, birds, animals, and strays of all kinds reflected her kind and caring nature. Dianna was an active and beloved member of her Bangor community and served on the woman's club and cemetery board. She dabbled in various hobbies and interests in her 82 years, from bowling to canasta.

Dianna’s love for her family was immeasurable. Dianna is preceded in death by her parents, Larry & Margaret Oates, and her husband, Robert “Bob” Link. She is survived by her children Scott Link (Theresa) and Leslye Pastorius (Tom), her siblings Cheri Ironside (Norm) and Gary Oates (Trish), her grandchildren Dianna Page (Jason), Tony D’Amico (Samantha) and Margaret Link (Matt), and her great-granddaughter Victoria Page, and nieces and nephews. Christmas was always a special time for the family, and Dianna’s iconic cookies were a highlight of the season — the tradition will continue in her honor.

Dianna’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on through her family, friends, and the community she touched. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the animals she loved and the family she adored.
