Caryn LaQuier Pacheco

Caryn LaQuier Pacheco, age 63, of Minneapolis, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and community.

Caryn was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, foster parent, and friend whose compassion touched countless lives. She is survived by her daughters Brianna, Maya, and Natasha, her cherished grandchildren Michael, LaRissa, Cereena, Caylah, Ivan, Andrea, Amaya, Darrien, Jasmyn, Isaiah, Jennifer, Alice, Lili'ana, Natalie, and Leah, many beloved great-grandchildren, and her bonus children Santino, Ashley, and Angelica.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Swanson (LaQuier), and her daughters, Jade Downwind and Waubi Spry.

Caryn dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a social worker, teacher, and personal care assistant. She was also a loving foster mother to many children and a deeply cherished stepmother, opening her home and heart to all who needed care and guidance.

She was a proud tribal member of the White Earth Nation, and she honored her culture by traveling to powwows across the country, celebrating community, tradition, and connection.

She will be remembered as the best mother anyone could ask for — nurturing, strong, and endlessly supportive. Caryn was a treasured member of her community, known for her kindness, wisdom, and generosity. She was an exceptional cook who brought people together around her table, and a loyal friend who made everyone feel seen and valued.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Church of Gichitwaa Kateri 3045 Park Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55407
