A woman who loved selflessly and was a beloved mother to many 🕊️
After a hard fought battle with glioblastoma, Carole is now among the angels and reunited with her loved ones in heaven. In these past few months, it was truly a blessing to hear the outpouring of love from family and friends, near and far, and the impact Carole had on their lives. Her legacy lives on in all these lives she has touched ❤️
About Carole:
Carole was born December 19, 1940 at the Minneapolis Swedish Hospital and grew up in Osseo, MN. She was a very accomplished high school student involved in band as a percussionist, All State Band, One Act plays, student council, Girl's State, Future Homemakers of America, Girl's Athletic Association and was the adored Homecoming Queen.
After graduating high school in 1958, she worked in accounting at Prudential prior to starting college at the University of Minnesota in 1961. Carole married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Woody, June 22, 1963. Though she didn't complete her degree at the U of M after choosing to raise her children at home, her love for learning kept propelling her forward. In 1976, after circumstances required her to return to school and work to support her family, she returned to North Hennepin Community College where she earned multiple degrees in Respiratory Therapy and Echocardiography. She worked in Cardiac Echo for 25 years and served as the First President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of MSDU, the Minnesota Society of Diagnostic Ultrasonographers. Throughout her career, she participated in helping save many lives through her extraordinary clinical skills. She fulfilled her goal of earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Library and Information Science from St. Catherine's University in 1993. She was a true scholar.
Carole was VERY proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to keep her friends and colleagues informed of all their accomplishments. She had a love for travel and was pleased to make several trips to Alaska, The Black Hills, Colorado, Florida and Cancun! She loved the beach and hearing the ocean waves.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Woody, children Paul Woody, Nancy Haack (Doug), Dan Woody, grandchildren Alex Haack (April), Amanda Haack, Hannah Woody and Haylee Woody.
