About Carol
Carol was born on January 13, 1950, in Geneseo IL, to Mauritz and Gladys Hulting. She graduated from J.D. Darnall Senior High School in 1968 and earned her B.A. in elementary education from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL in 1972. After college, she taught third grade in Kewanee, IL and worked as a camp counselor at Camp Augustana in Lake Geneva, WI. Carol then moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked as a Publication Research Manager for Miller Publishing Company and as a Field Representative for the MS Society. In 1981, she relocated to Marshall, MN, to become the District Sales Manager for Stauffer Seeds.
On June 16, 1984, Carol married Jim Breczinski at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo, IL. They settled in Minnetonka, MN, where they raised two children and shared their home with many beloved cats. Carol enjoyed motorcycle camping trips with Jim, annual family vacations to Gull Lake, and going to the cabin in Bayfield, WI. She also enjoyed visiting family across the Midwest and on both coasts and traveling overseas to Sweden, Germany, and South Korea.
A dedicated member of All Saints Lutheran Church for over 30 years, Carol was actively involved in Rachel Circle, Reach Out Choir, the OWLs senior group, and the garden club. Known affectionately to students at All Saints Preschool as “Mrs. B” or “The Lunch Bunch Lady,” she held various roles from 1995 until her retirement in 2018. Carol was also involved in Hennepin County 4-H for over 20 years as a 4-H Club leader and volunteer.
Carol was thrilled to become a grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Herbert and Oscar. She loved music, gardening, baking, chocolate, ice cream, and naps.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Mauritz and Gladys Hulting. She is survived by her husband, Jim; sisters, Gail (Norm) Hutchinson and Sharon (Jim) Grief; her children, Lora Breczinski and William (Chloe) Breczinski; her grandchildren, Herbert and Oscar Breczinski; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
