Burnett Gene Prouty, 83, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and brother, passed away on March 28, 2023, in Bemidji, MN, due to heart failure and kidney disease.

Burnett was born in Shevlin, MN, the son of Kenneth and Gladys (Sletten) Prouty. In 1958, he joined the US Navy and proudly served his Country until he retired in 1977. During his career, he was awarded many Awards and Commendations. After retirement, he worked at several jobs, until he started his second career with Raytheon. He retired from Raytheon in 2000.

He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, fishing, telling a good joke and playing cards with his buddies. He also loved couch coaching his beloved Vikings football team.

In 1986, while working in Korea, he met his loving wife, Sun Rye Prouty. They were married in 1987, and blended two families together.

He is survived by daughter - Pam (Chris) Sandoval of Red Oak, TX; Son- Kenny (Kate) Prouty of Cheyenne, WY; Son- Charlie (Jeehee) Kim Glendale, CA; Daughters- Hyera Ann (Anthony) of Tujunga, CA; Nuri (Woojae) Yoon Lewisville, TX; Sisters- Donna Harmon of Bemidji, MN; Diane (Jim) Renken Bemidji, MN; and Debbie (Mike) Bakken Cass Lake, MN.

He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his Parents, brothers- Dale and Kenneth Prouty; and brother-in-law Lester Harmon.

Burnett will be missed by many.

Reverend Dan Domke will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at Bagley City Cemetery.
