Brian Paul Quinn

April 25, 1979 – August 28, 2023

Brooklyn Center, MN, USA

Brian Paul Quinn, age 44, of Brooklyn Center passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on the morning of August 28, 2023.

Brian was born on April 25, 1979 to Robert and Helen "Sue" Quinn of Minnetonka and attended grade school at Immaculate Heart of Mary, where he soon met his longtime best friend "Joey" Gustafson in first grade.  Brian attended several nearby grade schools and John Ireland School in Hopkins, before moving with his parents to their cabin on Lake Minnewawa the summer before high school.  He graduated from McGregor High School in 1997 (Go Mercs!), worked his way through school to receive his degree in electronics technology from Hennepin Tech, thereafter going to work for MTS Systems in Eden Prairie.  Brian met Christopher Kranz in August of 2007 and his life was never the same. Chris asked Brian to marry him inside the Minnesota Point Lighthouse in Duluth, and the two were married at the family cabin in August of 2017.

Brian was a talented and motivated do-it-yourself type, from car and boat repair to home improvements, and generously shared his talents and time with his family and friends.  He was a terrific host of legendary holiday gatherings at his home in the cities and summer weekends at "The Compound" at the lake.  The recent loss of Brian's father, mother, and sister within the span of a few short years was a devastating burden for Brian to carry, and he found greater difficulty in the things he used to enjoy.  But he still cherished visits from his friends up at the lake, especially the night boat rides and bonfires on the shore, often to the music of Johnny Cash and Gordon Lightfoot.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his sister Erin, and his mother-in-law Linda Kranz.  He is survived by his devoted husband Christopher who stood by him during his difficult times, and also by his father-in-law Dwight Kranz, sister Shannon (Frank) Swider, niece Aurora Quinn and her father Mike Epstein who was like a brother to Brian, and by nephews Brayden and Peyton Swider, several aunts, uncles, in-laws, and his circle of close friends including Joe Gustafson, Julie Feiker, Dave Merrimack, Steve Quaday, Matthew Foley, and Mark and Melissa Borgman, all of whom already miss him dearly.

Funeral Mass for Brian will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 14th at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 13505 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka.  Visitation at church one hour before Mass, with reception following Mass.
