life story

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend

Tight lines and Cheers my friend!!

Brian Lee Mireault age 55, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022 in Elk River, MN with his loving wife and family by his side. He is survived by his wife Sue, his children Cody (Tatiana), Collin, Adam and Lucas, his grandchildren Austin, Astrid and Angus. Lifelong Friend and much more than a Sister in Law Shelley. Sisters in Law Kelli (Frank), Julie (Guy), Brothers in Law Craig, and Nathan (Marco) as well as Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. He was proceeded in death by his Parents, Brothers Rob and Scott, special Niece Michelle.

Brian had many passions in his early years from playing to coaching Hockey, his love of music to become a DJ, fond interest in Harness Racing and enjoyed a couple races late last year with his best friend Larry.

Brian began his career as a Professional Fishing Guide spending nearly 30 years on Eagle Lake with Temple Bay Lodge until 2019 when his Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis forced him to Retire. Brian was a very humble man who referred to himself as just a “fishing guide” but, from the lifelong friendships he made to the stories of laughter and memories he provided his clients, we know his impact was much greater than he would take credit for!!

Brian and Sue’s soul mate journey began in 2010 and they were Married in 2018 with special friends Candi and Jack as their Witnesses. Brian’s cancer diagnosis came just 7 months later. It was imperative for Brian to get Sue back to the states where she’d have the support of her family. They were able to enjoy many outings with the family like MN Twins Game, MN Vikings and his all time favorite MN Wild Hockey! He also had many visits from past clients, especially his dear friend Steve.

The family would also like to Thank his team from Allina Hospice for the amazing care they provided and most importantly his outstanding Nurse Becky.
