About Brian

Brian passed away on Sept 3, 2024 at age 52, from cancer. He is survived by his Mom, Sally Oakey and Step Dad, Denny Hagen. His Sisters and lifelong best friends, Chris Johnson and Lynn Koch. His Brother in Law, Robert Walker. He will be missed by his Nephew, Greg and Nieces Lindsey, Luci, and Emma.

Uncle B loved you all very much.

Brian grew up in Cottage Grove and was a lifelong Minnesotan. He was a career Electrician. For Brian, nothing beat being outside. He loved his music, his dogs, his kayak, a cold beer and a good smoke. Devoted dog Dad to Sampson and Hobbs. Lifelong member of the 3 Dot Crew with his siblings.

Brian will be laid to rest under a Red Maple tree at A Better Place Memorial Forest in Scandia, MN, in a private ceremony, at a later date.

The Family would like to thank Lakeview Hospice, Stillwater, MN. Hospice allowed his Sisters to take care of him at home. To his favorite nurse Jubi, your support was invaluable to us. A special thank you to his best friend Eric Silverman for being there for him when he needed it the most.

Brian was a complicated, independent and generous soul who continued to grow in love in character until the day he left us.

He would remind us all to Bee Grateful.
