Bonnie R Marion

October 23, 1933 – March 6, 2025

life story

A loving mother, friend to many, a beautiful child of god.

Bonnie Marion died peacefully in her home in Birmingham, AL, on March 6, 2025. Bonnie knew she was dying and had no fear at all. Her faith was a real testament to her beliefs.

Bonnie was born on October 23, 1933, in East Tennessee. She was the youngest of 11 children, two of whom died in childhood. She had 4 brothers, all who fought in WWll.

She graduated from high school and immediately married my dad, Don S Marion. The couple had 4 children and lived in Oak Ridge, TN, then Huntsville, AL, where they raised their children. Don died in 1976 at the age of 49. Bonnie cared for him night and day until his death.

Bonnie suffered another tragedy when her youngest son Scotty disappeared while para-gliding in Switzerland. His body was never found. He was only 37 years old.

In her later years, Bonnie lived in Foley, AL, and loved it there! She made many great friends there. She loved to travel and often spoke of her trip around the US and Canada in an RV.

She never met a stranger and just loved to talk to people!

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Denise Chandler of Montrose, CO, Dana Blomeyer of Auburn, AL, and son, Sam Marion of Albuquerque, NM. She has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She will be missed by many! Love you mom, RIP
