life story

Beautiful, brilliant, loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

About Bev

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Beverly Joy Aho on December 14, 2025. She courageously battled Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for over four years before it took her life. Bev was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose warmth, hospitality, kindness and love touched everyone who knew her.

Born on May 12, 1957, in Jackson, Michigan, to Waino “Jack” and Ada Hurula, younger sister to brother Rick Hurula (1954-2019), Bev had a hardworking and loving early family life. After completing Jackson High, she graduated from Albion College with double Math and Chemistry majors. She later attended Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota where she earned an MBA, and her love of learning led her to pursue a JD from Hamline Law School. She built a distinguished career as an attorney, where her dedication to justice and her clients earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike. She campaigned for Hennepin County District Judge and nearly won the seat with strong support from the judicial and legal community.

In her early career, Bev worked as a project manager with Control Data and made technological contributions to several space mission projects before deciding to home school their three children all the way through high school. She was an entrepreneur and partner in numerous small businesses with her husband.

Beverly had many passions and worked tirelessly to excel in all that she did. Some of her many roles include Church Sunday School Superintendent where she wrote, directed and accompanied many children’s church performances. She was a founding member of Southwest Metro Home School Group, Chair of The Eden Prairie Community Foundation, President of the Afton Marina and Yacht Club, Secretary of the Third Congressional District Republican Party, and gave selflessly to all her many commitments.

Beyond her personal and professional accomplishments, Beverly embraced life with joy and adventure. She loved boating, water and alpine snow skiing, scuba diving, and traveling, always seeking new experiences and creating cherished memories with family and friends. Her beauty, infectious smile, kind heart, and loving nature brought joy and light into the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brad Aho, mother Ada Hurula, and her cherished family:

• Dr. Amber Aho-Holt and her husband Will Holt, and their daughter Eleanor Holt (7)

• Austin Adesso and wonder dog Nube

• Anne Aho-Pantzke and her husband Joshua Pantzke, and their children Afton (8), Mackinac (5), and Blakely (3)

Beverly’s legacy of love, generosity, and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew her; she will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
