Betty Lou Julin, 90 of Bemidji, MN died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at her home.

Betty was born July 4, 1933 in St. James, MN, the daughter of William and Mabel (Hegna) Sellner. She married Clifford Niswander in 1950 and they resided in Sleepy Eye MN and raised 5 childen. Betty and the children moved to Bagley MN in 1968 where she met and married Walter Julin on June 12, 1970 in Clearwater County, MN. During her life she was busy raising her family and working various jobs: 10 years at the Egg Plant in Sleepy Eye, 25 years as a paraprofessional in Bagley, 22 years as a care attendant at a board and care facility in Bemidji, 11 years as a day care grandma in Bemidji, and a farmer with Walter for 27 years in Shevlin. She loved gardening, bowling, fishing, hunting, crocheting, baking, cooking, and raising her many dogs. She devoted her life to her family and loved to spend time with them. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she expounded on the teachings of Jesus Christ to family, friends and anyone she met. Through out her life she never wavered in her convictions. She spent many hours of her life serving in her callings at church, visiting people and attending to the needy.

She is survived by her children, Susan Niswander, Nancy Restemayer, Mary (Doug) Dyrdahl, Steven Niswander, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her siblings, Wilhemina (Maynard) Freyholtz, Gordon Sellner and Mavis Schiermeister. Her puppy Penny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, also Luverne Sellner –brother, Verna Godwin-sister, Leonard Sellner-brother, Dennis Niswander-son, Walter Julin-husband, Tara Martine-grand daughter, and Wyatt Martine-great grandson.

Casketbearers : Chad Restemayer, Ryan Restemayer, Robert Johnson, and Drew Hougard, Davis Kowalski and George Nyberg.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Lakeview cemetery in Blackduck, MN.
