About Bonnie
Bernita (Bonnie) Alvina Miller passed away peacefully at Maplewood Care Center in Maplewood, MN on November 9, 2022. Memorial Ceremony and celebration of her life will be held at Sandcastle Park Building, 3060 Patton Rd., Roseville, MN at 2pm on November 19. 2022.
Bonnie was born on October 23, 1948 in Hazen, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhold and Philipena Wiedrich and 14 of her siblings. She was the youngest, and the last, to pass and has a lot to look forward to in terms of a homecoming and welcome in Heaven. Bonnie was married to Duane Miller for ten years and together they had three children: Curtis, Randal and Nicolette (Nicki). Bonnie was never remarried.
Bonnie worked hard and successfully in the restaurant and bar management and hospitality field. She was forced to stop working early because of kidney failure. After several years of dialysis Bonnie became eligible for a kidney transplant because of the gracious gift of a young family friend, Jessica Bielke. Because of the kidney donation Bonnie had the gift of 21 additional years free from dialysis and was given the blessing of many years with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Bonnie always said that she would never go back on dialysis, and in the end that is what she chose. She was in a place of peace with God, her family and herself.
Bonnie is survived in death by her children: Curtis (Jennifer) Miller, Randal (Amy) Miller and Nicolette Miller. She also was the loving grandmother of her grandchildren: Kimberly (Neil) Obrad, Emily Miller, Ashlee (Nicholas) Smith, Hannah Miller and Isaiah Miller who will miss her dearly.
Long ago Bonnie decided to be cremated and for her remains to be given back naturally to the earth that she received so much solace in and around. Her remains will in part be utilized to bring new life to a tree and memorial garden.
