Ben greeted everyone with a smile and a joke. Warm and soft-hearted, he was given to small random acts of kindness. He loved a good laugh and gift-giving.

About Benjamin

Benjamin Walter Doyle Matthews, of St. John's, NL, died suddenly on November 4, 2025. Our family is devastated.

Benjamin is predeceased by his mother, Kathryn Roberts. Left to cherish Ben’s young life are his father, Paul Matthews (Tina); sisters, Heidi Matthews (David Slavick) and Zara Matthews; niece and nephew, Effie and Percy Matthews-Slavick; step siblings Rachelle Ryan (Jonathan Butt) and Joshua Ryan (Jessica); Fung Chu Chang; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Ben's Life will take place, tentatively, on December 16, 2025. We kindly ask those wishing to receive more information to RSVP: https://bit.ly/BenjaminMatthews.

Tribute donations in Ben's memory may be made to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (Urgent Gaza Relief) (www.pcrf.net), or a charity of one's choice.
