Barbara Jean Brown, 81, of Puposky, MN died Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at her home in Puposky.

She was born July 9, 1940, on the family farm in Lake Park, MN, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Bengston) DeGroat. She was raised and educated in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1958.

She married Raymond Brown on December 3, 1960, at the Eskjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park, MN. Together they started a family. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris in 1981 and became an elementary school teacher. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bemidji where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her: Children, Bryan (Kim) Brown of Mora, MN,

Jane Boutwell of Bemidji, MN,

Jeff (Christine) Brown of Bemidji, MN,

Neil Brown of Bemidji, MN,

11 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren,

Sisters, Marlys (William) Johnson of Crookston, MN,

Janice (Mike) Sheldon of Sabin, MN,

Cheri (Jon) Brammer of Moorhead, MN,

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Adeline DeGroat, husband Raymond Brown, sister Joan Wilson, and granddaughter Amanda Brown.

Active Casketbearers will be: Joshua Fuller, Jason Fuller, Jacob Brown, Mitchell Brown, Tyler Brown, and Tayden Brown.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Dawson Brown, and Ryker Isensee.
