Life of Barb

Barbara A. Reed, age 66, of Dassel, MN, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025 after battling pancreatic cancer for 2.5 years. Her stubborn German heritage gave her the strength to complete 49 rounds of intense chemotherapy without any complaints. Her journey taught us how to take things one day at a time and we are beyond proud of her incredible fight.

Barb was the 3rd child of 4, born on July 26, 1959 to Ike and Bernie (Stifter)Libor, in Glencoe, Mn. She married her husband Dave Reed on December 25, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he proceeded her in death in 2018. She was the mother of 2 daughters from her previous marriage, Amanda and Megan who were by her side her entire battle, to her final hour.

Barb enjoyed diy projects, gardening and casino trips! She did a lot of work on her barn style home, much of it while battling her first 6 months of chemo.

Graduating from Holy Trinity Catholic School in 1977, Barb was baptized and confirmed at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She worked at the Blue Note in Winsted for 17+ years from high school into adulthood. She moved onto the Howard Lake Muni for a few years, helping raise money as the "Ugly Bartender" for Multiple Sclerosis. She then moved into manufacturing, working at the Cartmakers in Howard Lake for several years. She had an outgoing personality that made lifelong friends everywhere she worked. She continued at Dura Supreme for 20+ years, before finishing out her career at Spectralytics in Dassel. Sprinkling in her charm and exceptional work ethic within every place she worked, she will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Olson(Richard) of Cambridge, Megan Wimmer (Tyson) of Litchfield; grandchildren, Christian Amaya(Brooke Volk) and their son Leighton, Kaija Olson, and Isaac Wimmer. Special friend and companion, Bob Taina of Dassel and his wonderful family.

Further survived by her siblings, Catherine(Greg Huse) of Hutchinson, Jim Libor of New York Mills; brother in laws, Tim Reed of Millcreek, Utah and Kevin Reed of Cokato. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by parents Lawrence "Ike" and Bernadette Libor, Roy and Barbara Reed, brother; Lawrence "Larry" Jr., paternal and maternal grandparents, nephew; Larry Libor Jr. and niece; Jennifer Kirking, many extended family members and her sweet dog, Allie.
