Arthur Meyer, 89, Nevis, MN passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home.

Arthur was born on September 25, 1932 to Frances and Joseph P. Meyer. He grew up in Glen Ullin, ND where he attended school and worked at Horst Grocery. At 19 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage to Marlene Binstock August 17, 1959 in Belfield, ND.

He was employed at Red Owl Grocery Store for 9 years. Art owned and operated Art’s Fairway Grocery Store in Frost, MN and the Blue Earth Locker in Blue Earth, MN and later Meyer’s Meats in Nevis.

Art and Marlene spent their winters in Apache Junction, AZ and the last 4 winters in Littleton, CO. Art enjoyed gardening and reading. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, and was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Art is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene; sons, Glenn (Vanette) Meyer of Piedmont, SD, Brian (Cathy) Meyer of Nevis, Duane (Michelle) Meyer of Littleton, CO; daughter, Kim (Brett) Kennedy of Littleton, CO; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Warren of Bismarck, ND and Arlene Moellendorf of Avondale, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary O’Bryan, Florence Braun, Frances Emter, Marlene Vogel; and grandson, Jack Kennedy.

Our Lady of the Pines Catholic West,, 205 Main St, Nevis, MN 56467, USA

Visitation for 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the Star of the North Marine Corp League Honors Team. Interment will be held at the Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Cemetery near Nevis, MN after the services.
