Andrew's desire is for this day to be filled with joy! (He specifically requested no tears on this day). He is no longer in pain and is at home with his Savior. For this reason, we ask that everyone join us to CELEBRATE his life and not mourn his passing.
He requested us to throw a true party for him. To honor this request, we invite you all to join us. Enjoy time with the family. Engage in telling or listening to funny Andrew stories. Most importantly, there must be sheet cake and everyone should be sure to eat more than one piece!
life story
Proud father, loving husband, devout follower of Christ
Andrew was born on April 4th, 1988 to Shawn and Kristine Millerberg in Sacramento, California. He grew up in Oroville with his siblings Lynn and Josh where he graduated from high school. He later relocated to North Carolina before settling in Arkansas where he attended Central Arkansas Master's Commission. It was during this time that he solidified his relationship with Jesus.
Another major life change occurred during his time in Master's Commission. Andrew's team worked at several national sporting events including the Kentucky Derby where he first laid eyes on his future bride, Alyssa. Carrying a large bag of trash, he walked over to her and asked (in his most suave and smooth sounding way), "Where is the trash can?" Alyssa pointed him in the right direction and it was love at first sight. They exchanged pleasantries for a few moments but did not speak again until their paths crossed several months later at the College World Series. This time, Andrew pulled out all the stops and charmed his way into Alyssa's heart. They began a long distance friendship that turned to romance and 2 years later, they were engaged.
Andrew relocated to Minnesota to start a life with Alyssa and was married October 15th 2016. They welcomed their daughter, Brylee into this world on July 18, 2019. Andrew was a doting father and adored his "Bry-Bry".
On April 1st, 2023, Andrew went to see the doctor about a persistent cough. He was diagnosed with Interstitial lung disease and his lungs were quickly failing. On August 8th - just a bit over 4 months from the initial doctor's appointment, he was hospitalized and it was determined he could not leave the hospital unless he received a double lung transplant. He was rushed through the various tests to get on the transplant list and was put to the top of the list a few days later. On August 14th, 2023 he received his miracle - new lungs!
Andrew was clear that the desire to have the transplant was so he could spend more time with his daughter. He was confident in his faith and knew that if he were to die, he would be with the Lord. He also knew Brylee needed a Daddy and he wanted to spend his time making memories with her. When asked what made his life worth living, Andrew quickly answered "Brylee's laugh!"
The last two years were a treasure for those that love Andrew but were difficult for him. He had numerous illnesses and his healing process was very slow. He fought hard to keep himself healthy emotionally, physically, and spiritually. He wanted to experience so much more but yet, he spent his time hearing Brylee's laugh, spending time with his family and friends, and eating cake whenever it was available.
In the early hours of Jan 20th, Andrew met his Savior face to face and took a deep breath without pain. As he left this world, his donated organs saved the lives of two others who were waiting for their miracle transplant calls. His donated tissue changed the lives of over 100 additional individuals. The life he lived and the faith he had in God, changed the lives of so many more.
Andrew's current reality is described in Revelation 21:4-5
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will there be any mourning, or crying, or pain anymore for the former things have passed away. And He who is seated on the throne says, ‘Behold! I am making all things new’”
