Alzada Jane Koisti, 104, of Kelliher, MN died on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Cornerstone Residences in Kelliher, MN.

Alzada was born on December 15, 1919 in Shotley, Minnesota, the daughter of Melvin and Mary (Beck) Olson. She was raised and attended school in Shotley until the 8th grade.

At 16 she got a job as a switchboard operator for the Kelliher Telephone Company and worked there for several years. She married Benjamin Koisti on May 27, 1941. She and her husband owned and operated a small construction business in Kelliher, MN for many years. She also worked as a City Clerk for the Village of Kelliher. Alzada was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Kelliher. She loved flowers, sewing, quilting, and taking photos. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Alzada is survived by her daughter, Karen (Don) Ufford of Bemidji, MN, and a son, Rob (Mary) Koisti of Kelliher, MN; 9 grandchildren, Disa (Marvin) Usher, Stacy (Jon) Solomonson, Amy (Kendall) Owen, Kayla (Chris) Nistler, Steven (Marie) Ufford, Hally (Joseph) Cheney, Darren (Emily) Ufford, TJ (Shelly) Koisti, and Tessa Koisti; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter; a sister, Vivian Edlund of the Twin Cities; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; a son, Terry Koisti; 4 sisters, Lilian, Wilma, Jewel, and Marie; and 3 brothers, Clifford, Russell, and Moril.

Funeral Services for Alzada

November 2, 2024

Location: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kelliher, MN with Rev. Daphne Urban officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral at the church in Kelliher. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher, MN.
