Alan “Buzz” Eugene Hinkley, 67, Park Rapids, MN passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home.

Buzz was born December 29, 1955 in Park Rapids to Robert and Marilyn (Pickett) Hinkley. He grew up in Park Rapids, graduating from high school in 1974. He was blessed with 4 daughters, Shelly, Sarah, Sally and Sheri.

Buzz had a love for motorcycles and snowmobiles in his youth. He loved to travel out west. He loved the mountains. He liked to collect coins and vintage toys. He loved auction sales. As a young man he enjoyed deer hunting and getting together with the family groups at the hunting shacks. He was a 60-year member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids.

Alan is survived by his daughters, Shelly (Tim) Ulvin of Park Rapids, Sarah (JT) Luther of Park Rapids, Sally Hinkley (Jacob Saitta) of Sydney, MT, Sheri Hinkley of Park Rapids; sister, Linda (Tex) Petersen of Park Rapids; brother, Rick (Jeannie) Hinkley of Sheridan, OR; grandchildren, Damion, Alexas, Ellie, Coley, Sawyer, Kasen, Karen, Rachel, Kylin, Adessa, Kiften, Ketch; his beloved cousins, RuthAnn (Ronnie) Pachel of Ponsford, MN; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Keven Bliss) of Nevis, MN, Rob (Shelly) Petersen of Moorhead, MN, Brent (Jean) Hinkley of Portland, OR, Megan (Jeff) Saupp of Flower Mound, TX; and a very special bond with Gary (Claudia) Vik of Park Rapids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn; and a cousin Robert Vik.
