James “Jim” Arlie Rowland, 73, Park Rapids, MN passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home.

Jim was born April 1, 1949 to Arlie and Lillian (Frey) Rowland in Browns Valley Village, MN. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1967 and from Moorhead Area Vocation College in 1968.

On March 1, 1969 he was united in marriage to Rita Jensen in Felton, MN. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Michelle and Brittany.

Jim and Rita lived in Larimore, ND for over 15 years and in the Park Rapids/Nevis area for over 30 years. Jim worked for many years in the restaurant and grocery industry, including 10 years at Heritage Living Center, many years at J&B Foods, retiring from Hugo’s in 2013.

Jim loved to garden, play drums, listen to music, cook and gather with family. He also enjoyed the company of his pets.

Jim had a big personality and great sense of humor. He always had a joke to share. He enjoyed having a laugh and good times with loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his two daughters- Michelle (Jeremy) Buehler of Deer Creek, MN, Brittany (Justin Edberg) Kruger of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa (Eric) Youngquist, Dylan (Sydney Greenwaldt) Larson, Winter Edberg; 2 great grandchildren, Breckyn and Cooper Youngquist.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita; parents, Lillian and Arlie Rowland; siblings, Richard Rowland, Tom Rowland, and Jane Gilles.
